A leading company in the field of sports betting is currently building a central Data Science team in Vienna. For this exciting development, a dedicated individual is sought as a Data Engineer to help shape the technological foundation for data-driven decision-making.

Your responsibilities:

• Analysis and preparation of data from upstream systems
• Modeling and implementation of scalable ELT/ETL processes (batch and streaming)
• Acting as an interface between Data Analysts and Data Scientists
• Data enrichment and loading into a Big Data environment (Apache Hadoop on Cloudera)

Your profile:

• Technical education in Computer Science (e.g. technical college, university studies, Data Science)
• Experience in data modeling – both with relational databases and Apache Hadoop
• Sound knowledge of the following technologies:
  • SQL (MS SQL Server)
  • Apache Hadoop ecosystem (Kafka, NiFi, Flink)
  • Programming skills in Scala and/or Java, Python
  • Experience with Linux systems
• Interest in working with high-frequency data in a near real-time environment
